Granada
Founded by the Spaniards in 1524, Granada can be considered the first major European town founded in American soil, and for many years remained as one of most important cities of the spanish colonial empire.
Granada is known as 'The Great Sultana' in recognition of its beautiful colonial architectural heritage, many of which can be still admired today. Today as long as a popular city and one of the country's main destinations for international travelers, it is also a good starting point for visiting some of the best Nicaragua´s main attractions.
Granada is a perfect city to be visited at a slow pace, because most of its interesting places are very close to another. We recommend a 2-3 days stay so you have enough time to see our beautiful city and its surroundings.
